Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow

I know you're waiting for this. I started the draft and I leave it alone and I start a new note and I start a new note and I start a new note and I have to finish.

In Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow, the main characters, Sadie and Sam, meet one another in childhood, when Sam is in the hospital. The novel follows them over the course of 30 years. They build games together. They tear one another apart. For the sake of the game, they build a small empire, sell one out, cross the rubicon. And yet they return. They fall out of touch and refuse to answer messages and, after sufficient time, each time, they come back. There are very few people who know you through time.

When you left, I scrawled over all the words you'd taught me. I damned myself, destroyed myself, as best I could. I built someone new.

I do not know why I answer your texts when I've burned away everyone who reminds me of you. But maybe it's tomorrow. I think we've left Boston. Welcome to Los Angeles.
